The Fusion Flow Class “As Unique As You”

Dennis Dean developed the Fluid Soul System for Yoga Mandiram to heal and balance one’s body in its ever-changing growth patterns and stressors based on manipulation, physical limitations, ailments and afflictions. Dennis Dean understands the nature of residue from various balancing and unbalancing systems.

“I understand the body based on personal study and experience,” says Dennis Dean. “Even systems that helped me tremendously had their own unbalancing affect on me, for example, the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system, as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Through years of practice and study, I learned how to understand the ‘system’ and ultimately, myself.

My love for Pattabhi Jois and Ashtanga yoga is undisputedly echoed through my many years of study. However, I neglected to ‘tone-down’ and shift to a new practice ‘system’ through my many years of study. I was addicted to this ‘system’ and its community as well as the sociological components that surrounded me. I share honestly, that I was ‘in it’ longer than I should have been.

Fortunately my primary Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher, Sri Tim Miller, introduced me to a series of other yogic systems – B.K.S. Iyengar’s Yoga and Myofascial Release. I now describe each as a work of art that elevated my yogic experience. I diligently practiced them along with my Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. I had nothing to lose! From the tender age of 17 when I served as an apprentice in Shotokan Karate and the Wu Style of Tai Chi, my life’s been devoted to the ‘search’ – a story we’ll save for another place and time.

B.K.S. Iyengar’s Yoga and the Myofascial Release system impacted me profoundly. After years of empirical study and experience with healing, balancing, and transformative processes, I was moved to create a synthesis of not only these three works of art but to highlight what I feel is the key underpinning of all these disciplinary life styles… Self Realization through meditation.”

The Fusion Flow System consists of these five components:

1. Seated Meditation
2. Rope Wall Release
3. Mandiram Myofascial Release sequence.
4. A Foundational Yoga posture sequence.
5. Deep Rest-Restorative Postures-meditation.

To compliment Fusion Flow, Dennis Dean designed the “Fearless Diamond” practice which is a synthesis of deeper meditations and pranayamas woven into an vinyasa flow asana sequencing that both supports and elevates the spiritual athlete’s endeavors

Side Note: Meditation practiced at the Yoga Mandiram is rooted in the Vipasana – insight- meditation. This traditional, global, Buddhist-based meditation, is non sectarian.
