Mandiram is adding a new offering to its popular meditation program: an ongoing donation-based weekly class on TUESDAY afternoons devoted to the basis and fundamentals of meditation practice.
Mandiram’s high-quality teachings on meditation have been well received, and to meet the rising demand we are adding this new Thursday class, where we will explore some of the most fundamental and timeless aspects of mindful meditation.
Developing focused awareness.
Mindfulness of breath
Opening to silence
Developing body awareness
How to deal with distracting thoughts
Inspired in part by the simple practices of Zen meditation, the class is designed to welcome and accommodate practitioners from any path or tradition, regardless of religion or spiritual affiliation, and is structured in such a way as both to help beginners find their way, and to facilitate more advanced meditators. It will be led by Mandiram practitioners, and by students of Zen teacher Henry Shukman.
