This course is an accredited part of The Yoga Mandiram's Teacher Training curriculum. A practical discourse and workshop on breathing, otherwise know as "Pranayama".
The art of breath control or pranayama is one of the key aspects of leading a less stressful life. Practicing mindful breathing exercises help you stay calm, get focused and rejuvenate.
This workshop will provide instruction and practice of breathing techniques that you can integrate into your current practice or as a stand alone practice.
In this workshop, you will: - Learn and practice various pranayama techniques. - Understand the basics of the yogic philosophy behind pranayama. - Anatomy of breathing; Part 1 - Practice the integration of pranayama within a asana (posture) practice. - Metaphysical, historical and modern uses. - Use of the breath in a meditation practice Each participant will receive a detailed, multiple page handout to bring home for future reference.
